A home elevator isn’t just about convenience. It’s about creating safe, seamless access between every level of your home. With today’s designs, elevators can be both highly functional and beautifully integrated into your space – adding both everyday ease and lasting value to your home. Delivering access, without compromise.

Residential Home Elevators

Through The Floor

Best for:

Well suited for retrofitting into existing homes with minimal construction and no need for a shaft, pit, or machine room. Their compact design and simplified installation process also make them a more budget-friendly alternative.

How they work:

The elevator travels through a floor opening between levels using a drive system. It does not require a dedicated shaft, pit, or machine room. The unit rests on one floor, allowing the opposite level to remain unobstructed.

Traditional Cab

Best for:

Best suited for new construction homes or major renovations where a dedicated shaft can be incorporated into the design. This option offers the most traditional elevator experience and maximum customization.

How they work:

The elevator travels within an enclosed hoistway and operates similarly to a commercial elevator. The system uses a dedicated shaft and mechanical components to move smoothly between floors.

Specialty

Best for:

Perfect for homeowners seeking a modern, visually striking elevator solution. These systems are often chosen when aesthetics, visibility, and minimal structural modifications are important considerations.

How they work:

Specialty elevators, such as pneumatic or panoramic models, use unique technologies to move between floors. Their self-contained designs often reduce construction requirements.

The elevator purchase process is easy.

STEP ONE

Free In-Home Assessment

Our team will visit your home to evaluate the space, discuss your mobility needs, and review potential elevator options and placement. The evaluation typically takes 45–60 minutes and includes detailed recommendations along with a written estimate.

STEP TWO

Product Selection & Contract

We review elevator options that best fit your home, accessibility needs, design preferences, and budget. Once you’re ready to proceed, we finalize the system specifications, confirm site requirements, and coordinate project scheduling, manufacturing, and installation.

STEP THREE

Professional Installation

Our factory-trained, licensed installation team manages the entire installation process, including coordination of any necessary site preparation work. We take care to protect your home throughout the project while completing all system assembly, installation, safety testing, and final adjustments. Upon completion, we will coordinate any required elevator inspections in accordance with your local jurisdiction’s requirements.

STEP FOUR

Training & Handoff

We don’t consider the project complete until you feel fully comfortable operating your elevator system. Before handoff, we provide a comprehensive walkthrough of the elevator’s operation, controls, and safety features, answer any questions you may have, and ensure you feel confident using the system in your daily routine.

Quick answers to commonly asked questions.

How fast can you come out?

We prioritize safety-sensitive calls. Most assessments happen within a few business days—often as soon as same day or next day.

No. The first visit is about listening, measuring, and right-sizing solutions. Our goal is to see your space, understand your concerns, needs, goals, and budget so we can help you and your family make the best decision for you!

Once the site is properly prepared, the elevator equipment installation and final commissioning may take approximately several days to a couple of weeks depending on the complexity of the project.

When properly planned and installed, a residential elevator should integrate seamlessly into your home with minimal disruption to the surrounding space. The level of construction required will vary depending on the type of elevator selected, but our team carefully evaluates your home’s layout and coordinates the installation process to help protect existing finishes and minimize impact whenever possible. In many cases, a thoughtfully designed elevator can not only improve accessibility and convenience, but may also enhance the long-term functionality and value of the home.

Most residential elevator systems benefit from routine maintenance to help ensure safe, reliable operation and long-term performance. Depending on your location and the type of elevator installed, periodic inspections may also be required by your local jurisdiction. Our team can help guide you through any applicable maintenance recommendations and inspection requirements for your specific elevator and area.

We offer various financing options and work with you to find the best solution that fits your financial goals. More importantly, we help you think about the true cost of not having a solution—the risk of falls, the loss of independence, or the possibility of having to leave your home. Compared to the cost of moving or the monthly cost of independent or assisted living, our customers often find that a mobility solution in their home pays for itself quite quickly.

Residential elevators are generally intended as long-term accessibility and convenience solutions and are not typically suited for short-term rental applications.

Yes! Our manufacturers offer top notch product warranties and Liftology offers a best-in-class service warranty for all new products we sell.

Elevators are typically intended to be long-term additions to the home rather than temporary installations. Because many systems are custom-designed and integrated into the structure of the home, removal may require additional construction or finish work depending on the elevator type. In most cases, homeowners view residential elevators as a lasting investment that can improve accessibility, convenience, and potentially the long-term value and functionality of the home
